DJ and Producer JP Enfant is an inspirator, building an electric connection on the dancefloor. It’s as if he stirs up a musical vortex that you lose yourself in. However, he doesn’t see himself as a sole storyteller. Like a guide, he inspires others to live their narratives through his music and opens their imagination. Growing up in Breda, Jan Pieter Kind, who already had a strong musical inclination, discovered the infinite storytelling potential within a DJ set as an early teen. It didn’t take long for him to realize that various forms of techno would become his chosen medium for creative expression.
The Amsterdam-based collective Les Enfants Terribles was formative for his artistic journey. As a founder, it allowed him to develop from a DJ to a curator and label head. LET became known for introducing a broad spectrum of innovative underground techno and house artists to the Dutch electronic scene through their label and events.
By now, the Dutch DJ and producer has become a lasting, influential entity in Amsterdam’s techno scene and beyond. Thanks to international tours, he carried his dreamy and persuasive sounds outside the Netherlands to clubs such as Berghain, Fabric, Bassiani and to festivals like Awakenings and Melt!.
JP Enfant’s residencies at Trouw and later De School in Amsterdam solidified his position in the scene. They further deepened his sonic narrative and his capability to shift energies on the dancefloor seductively.
Yet, JP Enfant’s creative exploration knows no limits. Amid the pandemic-induced pause, he wholeheartedly devoted himself to refining his sound, thereby magnifying its effect.
This has also led to the birth of Psychedelic Romance. The label represents Enfant’s vision of electronic music. Next to that, it is also an event series that creates stories through art and mindfulness, blending sultry techno with occasional ambient undertones. It’s about creating that electric vortex and connection, which absorbs the audience completely. In short: the ultimate dancefloor experience.
As a producer, his releases on labels like LET Recordings, DGTL, and a.r.t.less have established him as a name synonymous with timeless, sophisticated techno – mirroring the sultry ambiance he builds on the dance floor.
His release “Shifting Cybernetic Horizons” takes Enfant’s version of nocturnal, mysterious techno in new directions including a sense of future-past romanticism. This sets the right parameters for shaping the path forward with his music and in his DJ sets.
