Darko Esser / Tripeo’s New releases & Remixes

During November Darko Esser toured in Australia as he welcomed the Australians with his underground techno and house music to the festival and club scenes down under! He performed in Sydney with a 4+ hour house-set on the Trench rooftop, followed by a DJ set+ Live for Billion Underground at My Aeon in Melbourne, the very same spot he played a 6 hour set last year! Here to jump-start the Australian festival season, Darko appeared at Andromeda Festival for two days, first as Darko Esser for a 3 hour DJ-set on day one, and under his pseudo name Tripeo on day two. In conjunction with the tour he released a new remix through Australian label “Atotrophic Society.”

In addition to his tour, the Nargy EP released on the Clone Basement Series, has been gaining recognition after interviewing with DJ Mag, where he delves into his production! Hear the latest from Darko/Tripeo from his latest SurgeonRinse FM recording, as well as the Tripeo remixes for Vohkinne and  Doka-Xure. Keep an ear out for more news, as 2015 will be bringing even more heat!

See a special Q&A with Darko Esser about his tour:

1. What do you think of the techno scene down there and what type of reaction are you expecting from your music?

It’s my second time in Oz, I went last year for the first time. The country is so beautiful and the people so nice and friendly! I had a couple of very special gigs there in Sydney and Melbourne. The M’bourne gig especially was magical. I ended up playing for almost 6 hours. Everybody seemed to be on the same wavelength that night.. You don’t experience that that often! I will never forget that.

2. Tell us about the festival. Are you making any preparations right now for your set?

The Andromeda festival is a new initiative from the guys behind Kana Broadcasting amongst others. It’s literally situated in the middle of nowhere in an absolute stunning nature site at Ivory Rock. From Saturday morning till Sunday night there will be music non-stop from leftfield orientated artists within the house, techno, electronica realms. I think it’s going to be really, really special!

3. What are you going to do with your days while you’re not performing? (Surfing!? Drinking!?)

All of the above hahaha! I’m travelling with 2 girlfriends, so we will balance things out with chilling out, getting a suntan at the beach, checking out the beautiful Ozzie men & women and doing a lot of yolo when I’m having my shows. There’s so much to see and do in this huge continent, I’m sure there will be no dull moment!

4. Tell me about your remix releasing the 21st.

I met Craig McWhinney aka Vohkinne when I was in Australia last year. We had a click and hung out during my stay in Melbourne and became friends. When he asked me to remix his (fantastic!) Creole Rhythm track I didn’t need time to think about doing it. I’m very happy with the feedback the release is getting.

5. Do you have any more releases that we can expect soon?

Out now: Doka – Xure (Tripeo remix) – FORMAT Records
And in January 2015 there will be 2 twelve inches out on the Tripeo label with 6 reworks from the Anipintiros album tracks from James Ruskin, Blawan, Ben Sims, Mike Parker, Exium and Cadans

<In the meantime have a listen to my latest remix here>
